Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs launches on Cartoon Network

Based on Sony Pictures Animation’s Critically-Acclaimed Blockbuster Film Franchise

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs launches on 18th September on Cartoon Network

Get ready for a mouth-watering comedic adventure! The all-new TV series, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs premieres on on 18th September on Cartoon Network. Based on Sony Pictures Animation’s 2009 animated feature comedy hit Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and its 2013 sequel, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, that both became global hits, the all-new TV series is produced by DHX Media and Sony Pictures Animation, in association with Corus Entertainment.

In the brand-new Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Flint Lockwood is a teenager with big dreams of becoming a serious scientist with inventions that could change the world, instead of explode and end in disaster. Flint suffers from NFD: Non-Fish-related Dreams, which is unfortunate as he lives in Swallow Falls, a blue-collar town where sardines are driving a booming economy.

The show also introduces film-favourite, Sam Sparks, the new girl in town and aspiring meteorologist, who quickly becomes Flint’s best friend. Together, these two outsiders have a lot of laughs and adventures and share a simple dream: to help their fellow Swallow Fallians by inventing sure-fire gizmos that have gotta be better than sardines, right?!

All the lovable characters from the films are back, including: Flint’s dad Tim, a man of few words and even fewer expression; Steve the monkey, Flint’s sidekick and totally unreliable lab assistant; Mayor Shelbourne, the man who won his last term on a pro sardine platform; Brent, a local celebrity who still models babywear even though he’s a teenager; Earl who isn’t a cop yet, but is working an even tougher gig…as a school gym teacher; and Manny, the shockingly capable kid who runs the school’s audio-visual department and anything else he touches.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs premieres on 18th September on Cartoon Network.
